Hi, I'm Erik van Gorsel

I build software that works smarter.

I'm a Mendix developer at ANWB, and since August 2026 I've been an AI engineer there as well. I also look after the custom styling for every Mendix app our team builds. My focus now is entirely on AI engineering: tooling that lets development teams pick up speed while staying in control.

    AI assistants and agents that answer from facts. I put guardrails and measurements around them, and a person still makes the final call.

  • Mendix development

    Complete Mendix 10 apps, from domain model to integrations. I'm Advanced certified.

  • Front-end & UI

    I look after the custom styling for every Mendix app my team builds, from the design system and SCSS architecture to interfaces that feel right on any screen.

  • Data & integration

    I connect scattered systems through APIs and data pipelines, then turn them into dashboards where everything adds up in one place.

    I build apps for procurement, HR and customers, and look after the custom styling for every Mendix app the team builds. Since Aug 2026 I've also been building the AI tooling for the Mendix landscape as an AI engineer.

About me

Technology only matters when it moves people forward.

I started out on the business and data side and came to AI by way of Mendix and front-end. That detour shows in how I work: before I build what's been asked for, I check what's actually needed.
